Arthur Johnson


Arthur graduated with a BCom LLB from the University of Cape Town in 1992 before traveling extensively overseas for several years. His passion for Investments was initially ignited through working at Nomura International in London. Upon his return to SA, he joined Commercial Union which was later bought by Metropolitan. Over this period, Arthur was awarded his CFA Charter.

Arthur worked for Metropolitan Asset Managers as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager from 1999 to 2006. As an Analyst his primary responsibilities were in the Industrial Sector by covering several subsectors. During his tenure at Metropolitan as a Portfolio Manager he was responsible for third party funds, the Resource Unit Trust, Metropolitan's SADC funds, the biggest of which was from Namibia, and the Metropolitan Small Cap Fund.

He left Metropolitan in 2006 to gain experience in Hedge Fund Management, initially joining Breakwater Capital as Co-Manager of the Impact Fund and then Trilinear Asset Management as head of research and a portfolio manager. Currently he is CIO at 3 Laws Capital and will be the Portfolio Manager of the Climate Change Fund.
